The Women’s Chugach TR rain gear system earns its keep on tough unsupported backcountry hunts when staying dry, covering miles of country, and keeping overall gear weight to a minimum are crucial.
The design goal was a packable rain gear system with durability for extreme mountain hunts, plus excellent breathability and stretch to keep hunters comfortable even at elevated levels of exertion. This full-featured rain jacket includes pit-zip ventilation, adjustable cuffs, a 2-way adjustable hood, and multiple zippered pockets.
The seams in any garment add weight, introduce potential failure points, and are less water resistant. The new Chugach TR leverages a strategic build to eliminate seams wherever possible. This streamlined design is more durable, lighter weight, and has less bulk while packed away.
The Jacket design features raglan sleeves with a seamless shoulder for added comfort while wearing a pack. The sleeve cuff tabs are strategically placed for best compatibility for bowhunting with no bulk on the inner forearm for optimal bowstring clearance. The zippered hand pockets are raised to not interfere with backpack hip belt.
